Are you stuck inside due to the rain today? Why not learn some drawing skills? Grab some paper and a pencil, and start by drawing some shapes. Then, try your hand at some other items. Once you're finished, how about having a geometry review?
Summer officially started at 11:54 AM today. What causes the seasons? You can read an explanation here and check out the videos below for more information.
You already know that the bald eagle is our national bird, and you've probably seen it on the Great Seal of the United States. Did you know that Benjamin Franklin thought that our national bird should've been the turkey?

What is Juneteenth?
Dear Class,
It was wonderful to spend the past school year with all of you. We've laughed together, learned together, and shed a few tears along the way. I want you to know that I am very proud of you for working hard all year long and for showing kindness to each other. I always said we were a "classroom family," and I meant it. I think we felt a lot like a family in many ways...with a whole lot of brothers and sisters! Ha ha. I hope that you enjoyed the year as much as I did. I hope that all of you have a wonderful summer. Remember to relax, be safe, get some exercise, do some reading, review your multiplication facts from time to time, and enjoy your family. I'll see you in the halls this fall! Sincerely, Ms. Johnson P.S. Be sure to check back on this blog throughout the summer. Maybe you'll review a few concepts or learn something new. :) As tradition goes, the Pine River staff waved goodbye to the students and bus drivers as they departed today.
The weather was picture-perfect for having lunch outside with friends. Everyone enjoyed a recess together, too.
It's a fourth grade tradition to join with students from other classes to play trivia on the last day of school. The team with the most points at the end of 12 rounds is declared the winner. Thank you to Mrs. Otey for organizing this event.
The children enjoyed signing everyone's yearbooks this afternoon. This end-of-the-year tradition is such a nice way to wrap up our year together. Please look for the yearbooks to come home in the backpack today.
