May all of you have an extra-special Thanksgiving. See you on Monday!
The students delighted in eating their "Friendship Salad" together. Thank you to our families for sending in all of the donations to make our fruit salad possible. It was delicious! May all of you have an extra-special Thanksgiving. See you on Monday! A special "Thank you" goes out to the Reinke and Wishowski families for enhancing our plant unit over the past several weeks. Oh, the weather outside looked frightful, but inside it was so delightful...
Students ended Pine River's Nonviolence Awareness Week by participating in Cozy Day. The children were welcome to wear cozy clothes or pajamas and bring a special stuffed animal. They were treated to hot cocoa by the fifth grade Nonviolence Awareness team headed up by our counselor, Mrs. Bickel. Thank you! The students talked about animal adaptations during their outdoor nature time with Miss Cherie on Monday. They looked at the teeth on a bear skull and discussed how the teeth provide a clue to the animal's diet. They reviewed the words carnivore, herbivore, and omnivore. After that, they learned more about one food in a bear's diet: salmon, and they participated in a relay that illustrated the life cycle of a salmon.
Thank you to Mr. Crawford, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and parent of a fourth grader, for stopping to talk with us. The children really enjoyed hearing about your experience in the military. We thank you for your service to our country.
