Do you know the difference between a series circuit and a parallel circuit? If you need a review, check out the Circuits & Electricity section under Physical Science on our website. Happy learning! :) Our field trip to Lansing will be on TUESDAY, February 27th. We will tour the Capitol Building and the Michigan History Museum. Departure & Return Times: Please arrive to school between 7:00-7:15 AM. Students should report to the classroom; we will gather there before we board the bus. The bus will depart Pine River at 7:30 AM sharp. We expect to return at approximately 3:30 PM. Backpack with Snack, Camera (optional), & Book (optional) Your child will carry his/her backpack onto the bus. Please place a healthy snack and drink into your child’s backpack, not into the sack lunch. (Sack lunches will be stored under the bus and will not be available until lunchtime.) A camera is allowed, but the flash must be turned off. All other electronics should be left at home, except for the device that will be used to take photos. Students are also welcome to pack a book (including a notebook, puzzle book, & word search). The backpack will stay on the bus while we are inside the Capitol Building and Museum. The planner and the homework folder should be left at home that day. Sack Lunch: Remember to pack a sack lunch for your child unless you preordered one from the school. Please label your child’s sack and drink. Students tend to be quite thirsty after so much walking. If possible, please send a disposable bottle of water. Clothing: If possible, please wear Bullock Creek apparel or black and gold school colors. Students will need to wear quiet, close-toed shoes (no flip-flops, high-heels, etc.) We will be doing a tremendous amount of walking and we’ll be in the presence of Senators and Congressmen whom we will not want to disturb. Spending Money: If time allows, our class may be able to visit the gift shop inside the museum. Feel free to send a few dollars with your child on the day of the trip. Students will be responsible to hold onto their own money that day. Chaperones: Thank you to the following chaperones who will ride the bus with us: Kristine Dana, Michelle Gowing, Michael Smith, Alisha Williamson, and Katharine Johnson (Alternate). You will have no entry fee into the Michigan History Museum. A detailed schedule of the day will be provided the morning of our trip. For those few additional chaperones that will be driving separately, here is the parking information for the Capitol Building. Also, please note that there will be a parking fee and an entrance fee to enter the Michigan History Museum. Please see me the morning of our trip for a detailed schedule of the day. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you! Conductors, insulators, and circuits...oh my! Check out the photos of these students building circuits. Some even figured out how to incorporate a switch. If you want to learn more about electricity, stop on over to our Physical Science section for more information.

Remember, there are lots of learning activities in the Students section on our website. Why not take some time today to learn something new or get a few repetitions (reps) on something you've learned before? Happy learning! I hope to see everyone on Monday. Stay safe! :) Click here to read a little about wind chill. |
