See you on Monday, January 6, 2020!
Thank you to our room parents, Mrs. Emmendorfer and Mrs. Pollard, and to all our wonderful volunteers for making our Christmas Party a success. Merry Christmas to you all! See you on Monday, January 6, 2020! The children had a busy week that included gift giving, exploring sound waves using Slinkies, and engaging in a readers' theater.
Thank you to Mrs. Brandt's middle school Spanish students for spreading some cheer today. They stopped by to sing a few Christmas songs in Spanish. For their final song, they asked us to join them in singing, "Feliz Navidad." (See the sing-along video below.)
Thank you, Mrs. Brandt and middle school students, for taking the time to stop by and for the yummy candy cane treat! 'Tis the season for crafting and wrapping! The students enjoyed making their family gifts and wrapping each one with care.

I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful start to 2020! Our book exchange was a big hit. We got into groups and played 'Hot Potato' to festive music. There were lots of smiles as each of the books was unwrapped and the "Thank yous" were said. Many of the children chose to keep their books at school with plans to read them before break. Thank you, parents, for generously providing your child with a wrapped chapter book for this event.
Thank you to one of our classmates for showing several rocks that can be found in Michigan. The labeled, well-organized collection was a project that her father had done in school when he was a child. The children were thrilled to see and touch the rocks. They look forward to hearing more about them in the spring when we engage in our earth science unit. Thank you to the Ward family for sharing your collection with all of us.
The children enjoyed visiting the Book Fair this week. The PTO was pleased to announce that they reached their goal. That means Mrs. Walters, our school librarian, will receive a generous donation in which to purchase books for our school's library. Thank you to all of the families for your support of the Book Fair.
