The ground was bare on Friday, but that didn't stop our class from thinking about snow. Take a look at the beautiful creations that the children made just in time to usher in the official start to winter.
In preparation to learn about how eyes see color, the students took some time to engage in activities about light. They learned that white light is made of a spectrum of seven colors. They also learned about reflection and refraction.
The children recently spent time making and wrapping gifts for their families. The classroom was full of the sounds of laughter, hammering, and the singing of Christmas songs. It was a joyful time for all.
Today we had a reminder that December is a month when people sometimes feel worry or sadness. Even with the excitement of the holidays, sometimes people feel life is not fun, they feel angry for no reason, they worry about things, or they feel in a low mood. Today we wore orange to remind us that we can get through the tough times and we can be caring to others when they're going through a tough time. Kindness counts every day of the year.
After a few weeks of remote learning, in-person instruction resumed last Wednesday. It feels so nice to have the class back together again just in time for all the holiday festivities.
