Our class enjoyed a snow cone treat this afternoon. It really hit the spot after a morning of state testing. The snow cones were awarded to our class as a result of the Rex family for being the top bidder in the Creek Fest last fall. Thank you, Rex family! Friendly smiles once again greeted us upon our arrival to the CNC. We were happy to work with our naturalist, Mr. Justin, again today. Together, we...
We truly enjoyed all of the experiences that the CNC staff designed and executed. They prepared lessons that were fun and engaging. The activities gave us opportunities to work on our social and teamwork skills, too. Thank you, Chippewa Nature Center, for once again hosting our Bullock Creek students for the week. You all truly make every day a great day to VENTURE OUT! https://www.chippewanaturecenter.org/ Our survival-themed week continued with the help of Mr. Rod & Miss Kaitlynn. Today, we...
Once again the beautiful weather welcomed us to the CNC. Today, we enjoyed working with naturalists, Mr. Justin & Miss Katie, to learn about how to find food and water in a survival situation. We:
Our survival-themed nature week kicked off this morning. The abundant sunshine was a welcome treat after our rainy field trip two weeks ago. Our naturalist, Mr. Justin, expertly led us through our lessons. Today, we...
Tune in tomorrow to see where our next survival-theme lessons take us!
Thank you to our amazing P.T.O. for purchasing eclipse glasses for all of us. It was a safe way for us to view this rare natural phenomenon.
Photo credit: Ms. Robin Today was our introduction to geology. The children took a hike along the river to look for evidence of weathering and erosion. They compared soil samples of the riverbank and meadow. They viewed historical photographs of the CNC to notice how the land had changed over the years. Also, they engineered landscape models to withstand a sudden rainfall. The experiences provided a fun, hands-on way to learn about the earth.
A special "Thank You" goes to our knowledgeable CNC guides, Ms. Kris & Ms. Kaitlynn, and to our amazing chaperones. Thank you for all you did to create a fun and safe learning experience for everyone. |
